Endometriosis and pelvic pain
Care that takes pain, fatigue and daily function seriously.
Endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain can affect far more than periods. Pain, digestive or bladder symptoms, fatigue, disrupted sleep, fertility concerns and the effort of managing work and relationships can become intertwined.
A whole-person view of pelvic pain
Pain is real even when its intensity does not match a scan, surgical finding or single laboratory result. Endometriosis may be one contributor within a broader pain experience involving the pelvic floor, bowel or bladder, nervous system, sleep, stress and previous treatment.
Pain can persist even after endometriosis has been treated. Increased sensitivity in the nervous system, muscle tension and changes in connective tissue (fascia) may contribute to ongoing discomfort. Experiences of intense pain can also leave understandable anxiety and anticipation of further pain.
Naturopathic care considers this whole picture, including digestion, questions about the gut microbiota, and whether particular foods or food groups worsen your symptoms. If dietary changes help, we also consider nutritional adequacy and the implications of a restrictive diet for your long-term health.
Naturopathic care does not replace medical investigation. It can provide additional time to review the whole picture and identify practical areas that may support wellbeing, strength, function and day-to-day capacity.
What we may work on
- Pain patterns, menstrual symptoms and flare planning
- Digestive symptoms, bowel habits and food tolerance without unnecessary restriction
- Fatigue, sleep, movement and recovery
- Nutrition and self-care that are achievable during difficult weeks
- Safety and evidence for supplements and herbal medicines
- Fertility or preconception priorities, where relevant
A plan that can change with you
Needs often change around surgery, hormonal treatment, fertility treatment, pregnancy planning or periods of increased pain. The plan can be reviewed as your circumstances change rather than becoming another rigid set of tasks.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can naturopathic care treat endometriosis?
Naturopathic care cannot promise to remove endometriosis or replace medical treatment. It may contribute additional support for nutrition, symptom management, energy, sleep, self-care and the safe use of complementary medicines within a broader treatment plan.
Can I attend while using hormonal treatment or pain medicine?
Yes. Bring an up-to-date list of medicines and supplements so possible interactions and duplicated ingredients can be reviewed. Do not stop prescribed treatment without discussing it with the prescriber.
Do I need a confirmed diagnosis before booking?
No, but persistent or severe pelvic pain needs appropriate medical assessment. A consultation can help organise your history and complementary care while you continue medical investigation.
